Anne Marcellis

Anne Marcellis learned about quilting in 2001. Her work combines her background in accounting with an eye for color and movement.  Her patterns are designed with the novice in mind. They are very detailed and include lots of diagrams.  She loves “thinking outside the box” and is now experimenting with a more modern and artsy approach to quilting but uses traditional elements in her designs.  She loves trying to develop new ways to make techniques easier while building confidence.   Most of all, she adores all things quilty and stitchy as well as teaching, sharing and inspiring her creative processes with other quilters.

Anne Marcellis has taught in Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, South Carolina and Minnesota, speaking to guilds and conducting workshops. She has won several show ribbons, People’s Choice Awards and Best of Show awards at quilt shows.  One of her quilts, “Sammy’s Delight”, has been featured in the 2019 Quilt Art Engagement Calendar by American Quilter’s Society in Paducah, KY It received semi-finalist at the 2018 American Quilter's Society Quilt Show in Lancaster, PA , 1st place at the MN State Fair and an Honorary ribbon at the 2017 MN Quilt show. Starting in Houston, AQS is now touring “Sammy’s Delight” around the world until August, 2019.

Anne speaks to guilds about quilting and free motion quilting separately. She will take you through her “Journey to Creative Quilting”  or "Journey to Free Motion Quilting" that includes lots of TIPS and TRICKS, demonstrations, as well as showing many quilts as examples throughout her presentation, so get out your paper and pen and be ready to learn and be inspired to try new ideas!
